LTF performs qualified maintenance and process welding in five processes: GMAW (gas metal arc), GTAW (gas tungsten arc, or TIG), FCAW (flux-cored arc), SMAW (shielded metal arc) and STT (Surface Tension Transfer, a controlled short-circuit process).
The work welded by LTF includes the more than 1,000 joints of boiler bank No. 6 for the Chuquicamata boiler, tube panels inside the boiler, the 18 inch cooling piping and the brackets of crane rails. In special materials, it adds super duplex welding, ZeCor-Z welding from 2 to 16 inches and silver brazing of copper circuits.

Fabrication at the Concón shop of boiler tube banks for the convection section of the Chuquicamata smelter boiler, from the receipt and inspection of the A192 tubes to the escorted dispatch of boiler bank No. 6.

Fabrication of convection and radiant banks, wall panels and bends for the boilers of the Chuquicamata Division, with their installation, steam drum maintenance, and hydrostatic tests and non-destructive testing of every system. Workforce of 200.

Flash Furnace and boiler cooling, 18 inch line
Removal of the old circuits and fabrication and installation of the new cooling piping system for the Flash Furnace and its boiler, with an 18 inch line and about 10,000 diameter inches, supports, painting, booster pumps and hydrostatic testing. Workforce of 250.
