ZeCor is an alloy developed to resist corrosion by concentrated sulfuric acid, and it is used in the piping and equipment of acid plants. Elessent Clean Technologies offers ZeCor piping systems for sulfuric acid plants under its MECS brand.
At the acid plant of the Chuquicamata smelter, LTF performed ZeCor-Z welding in 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, 14 and 16 inches, and fabricated and installed ZeCor and FRP piping, in 2021, as part of a maintenance program that included catalyst replacement and repair of FRP equipment, with 150 people on double shifts.
