Maintenance at smelters and plants is carried out in windows agreed with operations. Within those windows, the workforce, its organization into shifts and field supervision are part of the project plan.
For Codelco, LTF has carried out contracts with about 250 people on double shifts, on the Flash Furnace ancillary works; 250 workers on shifts, on the 18 inch cooling line; 200 people on the boiler banks and panels and on the cooling circuits; 170 on double shifts on the Chuquicamata and Ministro Hales precipitator maintenance; 150 on double shifts on the casting wheels and at the acid plant; 140 on dryer 6; 90 on the rail replacement; 75 at Potrerillos; and 50 on the oxygen lines.

Ancillary works contract for the Chuquicamata Flash Furnace: ladle enclosures, fugitive gas system piping, copper launders, baghouse filters, electrically actuated valves and installation of the VTI and VTF units. About 250 people on double shifts.

Flash Furnace and boiler cooling, 18 inch line
Removal of the old circuits and fabrication and installation of the new cooling piping system for the Flash Furnace and its boiler, with an 18 inch line and about 10,000 diameter inches, supports, painting, booster pumps and hydrostatic testing. Workforce of 250.

Replacement of casting wheels 3 and 4
Complete dismantling and installation of casting wheels 3 and 4 at the Chuquicamata smelter, from the spokes, rollers and racks to the hydraulic system, take-off and weighing scales, with commissioning and calibration. Workforce of 150 on double shifts.

ZeCor-Z welding and acid plant maintenance
ZeCor-Z welding from 2 to 16 inches, catalyst replacement, repair of FRP equipment, and fabrication and installation of ZeCor and FRP piping at the acid plant of the Chuquicamata smelter. Workforce of 150 on double shifts.

Maintenance of electrostatic precipitators at the Chuquicamata and Ministro Hales divisions: cleaning and replacement of fields and electrodes, scraper conveyors, electrical systems and all internals, through to commissioning. A workforce of 170 people on double shifts.
