At the Concón shop, boiler bank No. 6 for the boiler of the Chuquicamata smelter completed its fabrication in October 2025. At about 13 tonnes and with many parts inside, the lift called for equipment of matching characteristics: an 80-tonne crane.
The bank was loaded onto a lowboy truck and traveled under escort to the smelter, where it is installed in the boiler to replace the existing one. On site, LTF has worked with telescopic cranes and boom trucks to lift sections of oxygen lines and piping at the Chuquicamata acid plant, and in the maneuvers at the Potrerillos smelter.
