A tube that fails in service stops the boiler. That is why every system is delivered tested. Hydrostatic test and non-destructive testing before returning to operation.
On the boilers of the Chuquicamata Division, in 2020 and 2021, LTF installed the headers and nozzles of the radiant and convection zones and carried out steam drum maintenance, with replacement of the demister that separates water droplets from the steam and replacement of the relief valves.
The same project included fabrication of the convection and radiant banks, the wall panels and the bends, with a workforce of 200. Each system was closed out with a hydrostatic test and non-destructive testing: radiography, magnetic particle, liquid penetrant and visual inspection.
